Pulling reins on Mountain View in Sun City

Project on hold for review

Work on the Mountain View Center rebuild and constructing pickleball courts at Lakeview Center came to a screeching halt.

Despite nearly five years of study that included two public community meetings and work by the Long Range Planning Committee and an ad hoc committee, the majority of the board believes another committee should be formed to research other options for the Mountain View site, 9749 N. 107th Ave. Current plans call for the existing center to be demolished and a performing arts center, gymnasium and resort style pools to be build there in the first two phases of the project. In a third phase, pickleball courts and a mini golf course could be added.

To replace the pickleball courts lost at Mountain View during construction, RCSC management was making plans to convert the tennis courts at Lakeview, 10626 W. Thunderbird Blvd., into pickleball courts.
