Justo, M.D., founder of the Arizona Eye Institute & Cosmetic Laser Center, this routine operation is being reimagined — not just as a corrective surgery, but as a transformative experience.
With surgical tools enabling greater precision, shortened recovery times and vision results tailored to each individual, “We’re not just restoring sight — we’re giving people their lives back,” said Dr. Justo, a board-certified ophthalmologist who has served Arizona’s West Valley since 1989. “With today’s technology, cataract surgery becomes an art form — customized to fit each patient’s vision, lifestyle, and future.”

Cataract surgery has long been one of the most common medical procedures in the world. But now, thanks to the innovation of Emilio M.
Dr. Justo’s approach combines speed, safety and personalization through a suite of tools:
Femtosecond Laser-Assisted Cataract Surgery: A state-of-the-art, blade-free method that enhances surgical accuracy while minimizing risk.
ORA System Intraoperative Aberrometry: Real-time measurements during surgery ensure the most precise lens implant possible — an advancement that takes the guesswork out of vision correction.
Swept-Source Biometry: High-definition imaging that allows for ultra-accurate lens customization.
Premium Intraocular Lenses: Including trifocal, toric and light-adjustable lenses designed to support active lifestyles and reduce dependence on glasses.
Combined, these innovations allow most procedures to be completed in under 15 minutes, with 24- to 48-hour recovery windows.
“Since my youngest granddaughter was born, I had never seen her clearly,” said Kimberly Nelson, a recent patient of Dr. Justo. “After surgery, I opened my eyes and said, ‘Oh my god, Grandma can see you now.’ It was amazing. I saw details I never knew she had.”
Every patient receives a personalized treatment plan based on their anatomy, vision goals and lifestyle — with education and compassion at the forefront.
“Dr. Justo used laser surgery and implanted toric lenses to correct my astigmatism. After surgery, I felt renewed. I lost 30 pounds and joined a softball team. It changed everything for me,” another patient, Glen Navis, shared.
Founded more than 35 years ago, the Arizona Eye Institute has three locations and thousands of successful surgeries.
“Surgery can be intimidating,” says Dr. Justo. “That’s why we’ve created an experience rooted in confidence and care — one where patients are informed, empowered and excited about their future.”
Patients experiencing symptoms of cataracts or seeking second opinions can schedule a consultation at one of the Institute’s three locations: Sun City West – 623-975-2020; Sun City – 623-876-2020; and Wickenburg – 928-684-2020.
