Posted
INDEPENDENT NEWSMEDIA
Baseball, music and food will be celebrated this weekend in Tempe Beach Park when Innings Festival returns for a two-day run.
Cactus League fans, locals and visitors will listen to some three dozen rock, pop and alt-country artists on three stages during the event, according to a release.
Among those scheduled to make special appearances are Randy Johnson, Kevin Mitchell, Edgar Martinez and others. The Bronson Arroyo Band will perform.
Food vendors will be serving up a variety of items, including vegan and vegetarian options, event organizers said.
Several Tempe streets will be closed or restricted to accommodate the crowds at the park, 80 W. Rio Salado Parkway.
From 7 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, until midnight Sunday, Feb. 26:
Eastbound Rio Salado Parkway will be closed between Ash and Mill avenues.
Westbound Rio Salado Parkway will be closed between Mill Avenue and Lakeside Drive.
Southbound Mill Avenue will be closed between Curry Road and Rio Salado Parkway.
City officials advise those who need to park in the area to get to a local store or restaurant to call the business for options.
