Tempe wants the community to participate in the makeover of Mill Avenue at several meetings this week.

A focal point of the city, Mill Avenue will see a half-mile of improvements between University Drive and Rio Salado Parkway.

“The streetscape project is a design, placemaking and construction effort that focuses on developing a revitalized Mill Avenue corridor,” city officials said in a release, adding residents are invited to provide thoughts on sidewalk concepts and proposed trees during these public meetings:

  • 4 p.m. Monday, Aug. 7, at the Tempe Transportation Center, 200 E. Fifth St.
  • Noon Wednesday, Aug. 9, via Zoom, https://us06web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZEufuqtrzMiH9SXAvN1Sp2hNoYwcGt6ka8z#/registration
  • 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 9, at the Tempe Public Library, 3500 S. Rural Road.

Those unable to attend the meetings will be able to view the recorded meeting, view materials and comment online until Aug. 21 at tempe.gov/DowntownTempeRefresh
