A 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of shooting and killing a store clerk in west Phoenix.
Around 11:50 p.m. Monday, June 22, Phoenix police responded to a shooting in a convenience store parking lot in the area of 99th Avenue and Indian School Road.
Police said the caller, later identified as Tony John Blunk II, 25, reported that he shot the store clerk during an argument that escalated when the clerk threw a brick at him. Officers arrived on scene and located the 30-year-old victim with gunshot wounds.
Phoenix Fire Department personnel responded and pronounced the victim dead on scene.
The suspect remained on scene and was transported to Phoenix Police Headquarters to be interviewed Detectives developed probable cause and arrested the suspect on one count of second-degree murder. He was jailed in lieu of $250,000 bond.
The investigation remains ongoing.
