Scottsdale No. 1 city for pets
Posted
For many, pet’s aren’t like family - they are family.
Approximately 90.5 million American households include a family member with a tail of some sort, according to the American Pet Products Association.
And there is no better city in America to have a pet than Scottsdale, according to WalletHub.
The personal finance website compared the pet-friendliness of the 100 largest U.S. cities across 23 key metrics, from minimum pet-care provider rate to pet businesses per capita and walkability, according to a WalletHub report.
And Scottsdale came in as No. 1 overall.
Three key categories were how much it costs to have a pet, pet health and wellness and outdoor pet friendliness.
Like everything else in Scottsdale, having a pet isn’t cheap. In fact, Scottsdale ranked 77 out of a 100 in that category. However, Scottsdale also ranked No. 1 for pet health and wellness and eighth in outdoor pet friendliness.
Other Arizona cities in the top 100 were Phoenix (30), Gilbert (69), Glendale (71), Tucson (78), Chandler (83) and Mesa (89).
