The Peoria City Council at their public meeting April 4 will consider approval of budget overages totaling $6.23 million to cover anticipated budget shortfalls in various departments.
The Council-adopted budget for fiscal year 2023 sets spending limits by department and fund. City departments cannot exceed these "appropriations" without city council approval. For different reasons, several departments expect to exceed their appropriations for fiscal year 2023.
The city is currenlty finalizing its fiscal year 2024 budget.
The council meeting will be 6 p.m., in the city council chamber, 8401 W. Monroe St.
