No work scheduled on Arizona freeways for Memorial Day weekend

State transportation officials advise motorists to plan for warm weather over the Memorial Day weekend, but there will not be any freeway projects to get in their way.

No construction closures are scheduled on Arizona highways over Memorial Day weekend, from Friday afternoon, May 24, to late Monday night, May 27.

Drivers should be prepared for unscheduled highway closures due to crashes, disabled vehicles or other incidents such as wildfires, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

With Arizona heating up, ADOT officials recommend vehicles be equipped with an emergency kit that includes water.

More information about traveling in hot weather is available on the ADOT website.
