Mesa Public Library cardholders can read thousands of magazines and newspapers online and free of charge.
The library is now offering free access to PressReader. The digital service allows library members to browse, download and read more than 7,000 publications from more than 120 countries and in 60 different languages. Mesa library cardholders who use PressReader will save the $29.99 monthly subscription fee, according to a release.
“We are excited to expand our free digital services at the Mesa Public Library. The average consumer spends hundreds of dollars on subscription services each month. That’s money our members can save by getting a free library card,” Mesa Library Director Polly Bonnett said in the release. “The Mesa Public Library digital services allow us to deliver free education and entertainment content to our patrons, thus fulfilling our mission of providing lifelong learning and strengthening our community.”
In addition to reading magazines and newspapers on PressReader, Mesa library members can reserve books, access digital resources and download content to their laptops, tablets and phones with their Library card and pin numbers. Popular free resources and apps include:
Compared to top market e-book and audiobook services, in 2021, the Mesa library saved its customers an estimated $10,496,959 — and that’s only a few of the many digital services available. Mesa library cards have no cost to Maricopa County residents and can be requested online. In addition to the free digital resources, the library has books and videos to help people achieve their 2022 resolutions, the release states.
