Controversial parking lot looms over Glendale budget

Glendale nears its May 14 City Council meeting with the tentative adoption of the fiscal year 2025 city budget on the agenda.

One large number looms over the budget process, attached to a controversial parking lot proposal that is likely to change - if it ever sees the light of day.

At an April 16 budget meeting, the council learned the proposed budget has general fund transfers in of $50.4 million, while general fund transfers out of $156.8 million. More than half of the second number is linked to $93.6 million for general fund captial projects.
