Monsoon season starts Friday, may bring rain

Umbrellas could possibly be in use Friday as the start of the monsoon season could be a wet one.
Meteorologists are seeing moisture from Hurricane Bud in the Pacific Ocean work its way into the state this week.
“There’s a better chance that the central and eastern parts of Arizona will see some showers and thunderstorms,” said meteorologist Mark O’Malley of the National Weather Service in Phoenix. “It’s not common to see rainfall this early in the season. Most commonly rainfall starts in the southeast at the end of June and progresses north through the state as we head through July 4 and the middle of July.”
