I-10 billboards ask for help solving West Valley homicide case

Electronic billboards along Interstate 10 have been activated as police are seeking tips to help identify the person who struck and killed a 16-year-old girl in Buckeye.

Buckeye police recently began displaying a Silent Witness banner promoting a cash reward up to $12,000 for information that can lead to an arrest in the death of Anaiah Walker. She was found dead on the I-10 median west of Watson Road on May 22, 2020.

Investigators determined she had been hit by a car. Detectives analyzed car parts left at the scene to develop information on a vehicle involved in the incident. The unknown suspect was likely driving a 2016 to 2018 Honda Civic LX or LE with factory color “midnight burgundy pearl," police said.

In 2022, Buckeye police partnered with Silent Witness to increase the potential reward for information.

This is the second year in a row that Buckeye police have used billboards to highlight the case. The digital billboards will run through May.

Anyone with information is urged to call 480-WITNESS (480-TESTIGO for Spanish-speakers) to remain anonymous and potentially be eligible for a cash reward.
