Free Arts for Abused Children of Arizona announces new leadership team

Free Arts for Abused Children of Arizona announced two changes to leadership roles.

Jodie Sprayberry is the new vice president of philanthropy, and Danielle Tefft will serve as vice president of programs.

Founded in 1993, Free Arts for Abused Children of Arizona is a nonprofit which transforms children’s trauma to resilience through the arts. Free Arts programs include creative elements that promote safety, self-expression and a sense of belonging.

Free Arts programs are delivered by 900 volunteer mentors and artists who serve more than 8,000 children annually through partnerships with 43 social service child welfare agencies at 100+ sites across Maricopa County.

Sprayberry brings more than 20 years of experience to her new position. Inspired by her mother’s volunteer work with the American Cancer Society, Sprayberry began her career in fund development with the United Way of Kern County and has since filled multiple leadership roles with several nonprofits and community-based organizations.

She will develop and integrate fundraising strategies for the organization and grow relationships with key community partners to increase Free Arts’s connections and impact.

Tefft has been part of the Free Arts family for a year, most recently serving as a program director. She has led nonprofits throughout the Valley for more than 20 years, including mentoring, prevention, and advocacy work.

Tefft will provide leadership and oversight to Free Arts programs and services, as well as partnering with board and senior leadership to contribute insights and develop future programs for the organization.

Free Arts for Abused Children of Arizona is located at 352 E. Camelback Road, in Phoenix.
