Fred Meyers sells Gilbert land for outparcels

Fred Meyer Stores of the Kroger Companies sold 7.64 acres of land at the northwest corner of Elliot and Power roads June 15 to Barclay Holdings CII LLC, a division of real estate developer Barclay Group, according to commercial real-estate website vizzda.com.

The land is planned for outparcels in a Fry's-anchored shopping center. This property is planned for the development of about 34,150 square feet of retail space in six buildings, with 17,300 square feet of inline retail while the other five buildings each have a drive-through lane planned.

The sale price was $1.99 million with a new construction loan of $15.3 million from lender Sunwest Bank, according to vizzda.com.

The land is near the Cactus Yards sports complex and across the street from The Ranch, the recently approved light-industrial development south of Elliot Road.
