Four Kyrene schools earn educational excellence award
Posted
Four Kyrene schools have been awarded the 2023 Arizona Educational Foundation A+ School of Excellence award.
According to a press release, all four Kyrene schools that sought A+ recognition this year were successful in their bids for the coveted award. Twelve Kyrene schools currently hold an A+ recognition.
Kyrene 2023 A+ Schools of Excellence:
Kyrene de los Cerritos Leadership Academy
Kyrene del Cielo Elementary School
Kyrene de la Colina Elementary School
Kyrene de la Paloma Arts Integration Academy
Kyrene del Cielo is celebrating a new A+ designation (the school previously earned the award in 2006); Kyrene de los Cerritos was previously recognized in 2017 and 2013; Kyrene de la Colina and Kyrene de la Paloma are renewing their A+ status, last award in 2018.
Schools applying for this recognition take part in a rigorous process that includes a written application, on-site visits by a team of trained judges and participation by faculty, students and families, the release stated.
Schools are evaluated in areas such as school culture, curriculum, leadership, assessment data and community involvement.
Schools receive an A+ School of Excellence banner and receive a $500 award. Visit Kyrene School District online for a complete list of Kyrene’s A+ Schools of Excellence.
