Chandler Police budget request is $101M

Jump is about $7M from adopted FY24 budget

The city of Chandler’s daylong April 26 budget briefing didn’t produce many new revelations about needs, expenses or planned purchases or projects. However, it did include some eyebrow-raising numbers — for a variety of reasons.

Chandler’s police department request for Fiscal 2025, which runs July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2025, is slightly more than $101 million. Almost $87 million is for salaries and benefits for the department, which has about 338 sworn officers and 182 civilian employees.

Combined with about $10 million in Fiscal 2024 capital costs, the overall budget for Chandler Police will be almost $111 million — a 6.07% increase from the Fiscal 2024 adopted budget.
