A family who lost their father and husband in a fatal collision now have some closure with the arrest of a driver who reportedly failed to stop at a red light and struck a vehicle from behind.
But their recovery continues.
"At this point I’m still not back to work and me and all four of our kids are in weekly therapy," Sarah Garcia told the Daily News-Sun. "Our whole family still struggles daily with the loss of David. We are however looking forward to going to court and getting the justice David deserves."
Glendale police report Vincent Kaven Trevino, 23, turned himself in Monday morning in connection with a Dec. 5, 2018 collision.
Mr. Garcia was pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver, since identified as Mr. Trevino, sustained minor injuries and went to the hospital for treatment.
He was not arrested at the time, although records state Mr. Trevino was transported to Glendale city jail after he was released from the hospital. When that occurred is not immediately known.
According to records, multiple tests found Mr. Trevino had a blood alcohol content of 0.24 and 0.27, three times the legal limit in Arizona.

Mr. Trevino turned himself in around 8 a.m. Jan. 28 and was subsequently booked into the Fourth Avenue Jail in lieu of a $50,000 bond. He faces one count of reckless manslaughter. His next court dates are Feb. 4 and 7.
The Garcias were in the process of moving between Glendale and El Mirage around the time of the collision.
"We are doing as good as we can be," Ms. Garcia said. "The arrest gave us a little peace just knowing the driver's criminal record in addition to killing my husband. He’s where he should be."
