The Board of Directors for the Recreation Centers of Sun City could decide on changes to the operating status of its facilities and upcoming events amid COVID-19 concerns.
The Board will meet in executive session Monday, March 16 and will immediately communicate this information once a decision has been made, according to a Sunday email.
RCSC stated it does not take Cardholders' health and safety lightly and continues to urge everyone to follow these precautions and guidelines:
Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. Always wash hands with soap and water if hands are visibly dirty.
Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
Stay home when you are sick.
Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.
RCSC will post information on its website and social media accounts as this situation develops.
Already in the area, Sun City West and Sun City Grand, the latter which is a community in Surprise, announced closures of facilities and cancellation of events.
The closure includes all CAM Buildings; all CAM and SCG Meetings and Events; all Chartered Club Activities, except Golf, Meetings, and Events; and all Special Interest Group Activities, Meetings, and Events.
Open-air facilities such as Golf, Tennis, Pickleball, Bocce, Lawn bowling, Horseshoes, etc. will remain unlocked and may be utilized by those community members who choose to do so.

For most people, COVID-19 causes only mild or moderate symptoms, such as fever and cough. In older adults and people with existing health problems, it can cause more severe illness.
The vast majority of people recover from COVID-19.
