Students and staff at Arizona Charter Academy, 16025 N. Dysart Road, went on an international trip March 9 to 18.

Every year, Arizona Charter Academy hosts an international trip for their students. Last year, they went to London, Paris, Brussels, and Amsterdam. The year before, Costa Rica. Due to the high school closing, this will be the last trip that ACA students will attend. For their last trip, they traveled to Italy and Greece. Eleven students, two parents, and two chaperones visited cities such as Athens, Delphi, Capri, Sorrento, Pompeii and Rome. There they saw the Parthenon, the ancient ruins of Delphi, women making handmade pasta, the island of Capri, and the Colosseum.

“I feel sad that this is the last trip, there is so much of the world to see. This was a bittersweet trip,” says Minette Klenner, the main chaperone on all of the international trips. Her hope for students to take away from the trip is to remember that there is a world out there and we should educate ourselves to understand it, explore it and love it.

ACA also traveled with Imagine Surprise; that school will continue going on international trips.
