The deadline to officially file to run as a candidate in this November’s general election passed on Monday, and eight names are slated to be on the ballot for Deer Valley Unified School District governing board.
As of Wednesday, July 10, the Office of the Maricopa County Superintendent shows that Ann Ordway filed on June 26 with 775 signatures; Kim Fisher filed July 5 with 723 signatures; Tiffany Hawkins filed July 5 with 782 signatures; Melody Holehan-Kopas filed July 6 with 745 signatures; Karen Pack filed July 6 with 876 signatures; Terri Roberts filed July 6 with 719 signatures; Steve Bottfeld filed July 8 with 1,319 signatures; and Julie Stockwell filed July 8 with 1,117 signatures.
There is now a 10-day period, through July 22, to challenge any signatures. To appear on the Nov. 5 ballot, a candidate must successfully defend against any nomination challenge filed in court.
