Scottsdale ZIP code records 121 virus cases in 7 days

There have been 373 new positive cases of COVID-19 recorded in Scottsdale in the past seven days, state numbers show.
Numbers provided by the Arizona Department of Health Services on Nov. 9 show 7,431 total cases of COVID-19 mapped to Scottsdale’s nine ZIP codes.
City-wide, compared with numbers last week — 7,058 — there have been 373 new cases since last Tuesday.
The Old Town Scottsdale ZIP code of 85251 recorded 121 new cases of COVID-19, with 1,804 cases attributed to that area in total.
ZIP code 85260 also had increases of more than 60 new cases.
More than 90% of cases were mapped to the address of the patient’s residence. If the patient’s address was unknown the case was mapped to the address of the provider followed by the address of the reporting facility, according to the ADHS.
Data available through ADHS shows cases per ZIP code are reported as:
85257: 1,287 cases (up 44);
85251: 1,804 cases (up 121);
85250: 419 cases (up 14);
85258: 641 cases (up 44);
85260: 1,154 cases (up 62);
85259: 499 cases (up 19);
85255: 1,211 cases (up 45);
85266: 222 cases (up 9); and
85262: 194 cases (up 15).
For most people, the new coronavirus causes mild or moderate symptoms, such as fever and cough that clear up in two to three weeks.
The Scottsdale Unified School District reports 32 cases for the week of Nov. 5 from its 29 schools, district offices and departments.
Saguaro High School reported the most cases in the first week of November, with five cases.
In total, the district reports 146 cases total since school returned.
