Royse Contemporary will host a special artist reception for the “Consideration of Color” exhibition from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 8 in the Scottsdale Arts District in the Marshall Square complex at 7077 E. Main Street, Suite 6.

Coinciding with the “Scottsdazzle Artwalk,” the evening will offer art, an opportunity to meet the artists, along with refreshments and treats, according to a press release. Royse will display Consideration of Color, a group exhibition examining color, reflecting upon the effects color creates within the artist and viewer through Jan. 8, 2023.

Color is a tool allowing artists to express themselves, as well as connect with its viewers, the release said, noting Royse has assembled the collection of work by artists working in an array of mediums including painting, drawing and mixed media.

This exhibition showcases the work of artists Cam DeCaussin, Fausto Fernandez, Casey Wakefield, Damian Jim, Becky Spradling and Barbara Kemp Cowlin, noted the release.

“Each artist approaches their work in an original way, and we are delighted to bring this enchanting collection of work to Royse Contemporary,” said curator, Nicole Royse in a prepared statement. “We seek to highlight artists whose work offers a vibrancy, distinctive voice and vitality that will evoke and captivate a wide audience.”

Royse Contemporary is open 10 a.m.-1 p.m., Tuesday; 6-9 p.m., Thursday; 10 a.m.-1 p.m., Friday; and 11:30 am-5 p.m., Saturday; and/or by appointment.
