Royse Contemporary will present “Reverence of Place & Time,” the solo exhibition of Peter Brian Klein, debuting his latest collection of his color photography capturing the beauty of northern Arizona.

Noted as a “true master of his craft,” Mr. Klein has created stunning color dual layered photographic prints on polished acrylic, according to a press release.

“Each image transcends traditional landscape photography, transporting the viewer to this splendid and magical place, capturing the true evocative beauty of nature in each image,” said Nicole Royse, curator, in a prepared statement.

The eroded volcanic remains of the San Francisco Peaks mark the highest point of elevation in Arizona, a sacred sight revered by native Arizonans.

As a lifelong native he wanted to capture the affinity he has for northern Arizona, while expressing his reverence for the indigenous people and the cultural significance that it represents, the release said.

“Evolving from the ashes of ancient volcanic devastation, this place represents something quite different to me than it does to the Hopi of Black Mesa, we are equally in awe of the San Francisco Peaks and the landscapes they loom over,” said Mr. Klein in a prepared statement.

“We all must all work together to protect this majestic natural wonder that we have come to admire.”

In his latest collection, he captured breathtaking images of Lockett Meadow during the summer solstice, as an expression of time and gratitude for the solace he found in their shadows, detailed the release.

Born, raised and educated in Phoenix, Mr. Klein fell in love with photography at a young age, said the release of his life long journey of learning and exploring the photographic process, which began with an initial education using film and darkroom printing.
