Dangerous heat expected through weekend in Scottsdale

Covers Maricopa and Pinal counties

The National Weather Service forecasts extreme heat through the weekend for Maricopa and Pinal counties, including the community of Scottsdale.

Temperatures could peak at 117 degrees daily through Sunday, Aug. 9, NWS officials said Wednesday.

During the current heat wave, Arizona Public Service customers set an all-time peak energy demand, preliminary figures show.
