Blue Zones Project Scottsdale is offering free events open to the public called moais designed to improve resident’s social connections.

Blue Zones Project Scottsdale is bringing neighbors together through a series of free gatherings called “moais” (pronounced moh-eyes), and there’s something for just about everyone.

Inspired by a tradition from Okinawa, Japan, where strong social connections are part of everyday life, these groups are all about getting people out of the house, making new friends and building healthier habits without feeling like another thing on the to-do list, according to a press release.
