Queen Creek police receive state accreditation

Posted

The Queen Creek Police Department has earned accreditation through the Arizona Law Enforcement Accreditation Program, marking a milestone for the agency that was established in January 2022.

The accreditation process required the department to undergo a comprehensive review of its policies, procedures and operations.

“Achieving (Arizona Law Enforcement Accreditation Program’s) high standards for professional excellence is a major accomplishment for our department,” stated Queen Creek Police Chief Randy Brice in a press release. “Being a young department, we have dedicated ourselves to establishing a strong foundation in best practices. This accreditation reflects the hard work of our officers and staff and the support of our town council and community.”

QCPD will be working on renewing accreditation every four years to ensure “that the department consistently meets the established standards to provide the best possible service to the Queen Creek community,” the release continued.

The Arizona Law Enforcement Accreditation Program was created in 2018 through a partnership with the Arizona Association of Chiefs of Police, Arizona Municipal Risk Retention Pool, League of Arizona Cities and Town and Arizona Peace Officer Standards and Training Board. The program is voluntary.

“Through a rigorous accreditation process, we strive to enhance public trust, ensure operational excellence, and advance the quality of law enforcement services provided to our communities,” according to the program’s website.

Fifty Arizona law enforcement agencies have received accreditation from the program.
