Queen Creek police, fire respond to emergency call at wash; no injuries

Posted

No water rescue was needed by the town's fire and police departments following a false alarm about a possible emergency at the flowing Queen Creek Wash Trail.

Earlier this afternoon, Queen Creek fire and police departments were on scene at the wash trail at Hawes Road following a report of two people possibly in distress.

“An individual saw two men enter the flowing wash and did not see them come out. The two individuals did not appear to be in distress at the time. Search efforts are underway to locate the two individuals,” according to a statement from the town.

Soon, video  was located of two men matching the description walking away from the wash not long after the initial call for service.

"Contact has been made with the two males, and they confirmed they were the individuals in the wash," the town reported.

The wash has been closed due to heavy rains over the weekend.
