The splash pad at one Queen Creek park is set to close for the season on Thursday for maintenance even as temperatures are still soaring in the Valley.
It was originally announced that the splash pad at Mansel Carter Oasis Park, 9535 E. Appleby Road, would be closing on Monday for resurfacing.
The resurfacing requires warm temperatures for the product to properly adhere, stated Constance Halonen Wilson, communications and marketing manager for the town of Queen Creek in an email.
Mansel Carter Oasis Park features a shipwreck-themed splash pad along with various above ground water features. The splash pad normally remains open throughout October.
But Queen Creek residents won’t be left entirely without splash pads.
The more than 4,000-square-foot splash pad at Founders' Park, 22407 S. Ellsworth Road, is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. through the end of the month.
The newest splash pad at Frontier Family Park, 20039 S. 220 St., will remain open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. through the end of October.
