Festivals, tours, shopping and reconnecting with the land – that’s agritainment. And it has a strong presence in Queen Creek.
Agritainmnet is the nexus where agriculture and entertainment meet. While Queen Creek officials do not track sales tax receipts from the agritainment sector, Economic Development Director Doreen Cott said it does have a positive impact on the town’s economy.
“As more and more people move here, we want to keep that little bit of that world character and stay true to our agricultural roots,” Cott said. “So, it's a great way for us to have the benefits of these great destinations that offer great products, bring people to our town, which is great for our tourism sector and then you know helps complement all of that residential development.”
