Queen Creek, Gilbert partner for hazardous waste disposal

Posted

Queen Creek and Gilbert have teamed up to offer residents an environmentally safe and responsible way to dispose of household hazardous waste.

With a voucher, those with active town of Queen Creek trash and recycling services can take advantage of the household hazardous waste disposal at no extra charge.

The town can provide up to 32 monthly vouchers. Vouchers can take up to three weeks to become available and they are good for up to two weeks of receipt, Queen Creek’s website stated.

When a voucher becomes available, the town’s customer service team will contact residents with their vouchers.

Items such as antifreeze, automotive fuel, batteries and cell phones are accepted. Latex paint, ammunition, appliances and electric vehicles batteries are among the items that will not be accepted.

Visit www.QueenCreekAZ.gov/HHW for more information on what items will and will not be accepted, the do’s and don’ts of the service and to request a voucher.

The Gilbert Household Hazardous Waste Facility is located at the South Area Service Center,  2224 E. Queen Creek Road, on the northwest corner of Greenfield and Queen roads. The entrance is a half block west of Greenfield Road off Queen Creek Road.

Disposal is available from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
