QCUSD marks 100th day of school year

Posted

Monday marks the 100th day of the 2024-25 school year and Queen Creek Unified School District teachers, staff, students and parents are celebrating.

The day offers an opportunity to reflect on the progress the district is making, as well as marking its official enrollment count, which plays a crucial role in determining school funding for the following year.

“Looking back, QCUSD has had an incredible first half of the year: 11 out of our 13 eligible schools earned an “A” rating, enrollment grew to over 15,000 students, and we’ve seen countless examples of student success,” a district press release stated.

On Monday, each QCUSD school will celebrate the 100th day in its own special way.

Last year, Sarah Belvado’s first-grade class at Faith Mather Sossaman Elementary dressed up as the 101 dalmatians and put their detective hats on to solve a mystery.

At Desert Mountain Elementary, teachers and students embraced the theme by dressing up as if they were 100 years old. Across all campuses, activities centered on the number 100 brought students and staff together.

“We hope students reflect on their achievements and approach the rest of the school year with the same determination” the release continued. “This year is especially momentous as we prepare to celebrate Crismon High School’s first graduating class.”
