Posted

Queen Creek welcomed its newest credit union on Thursdaywith the opening of America First Credit Union.

The almost 3,000-square-foot credit union is located at 22335 E. Queen Creek Road near the southwest corner of Signal Butte and Queen Creek roads within the Marketplace at Hudson Station.

The grand-opening ceremony was attended by Queen Creek Town Council Member Bryan McClure, Allison Hurtado of Child Crisis Arizona and representatives from the offices of U.S. Sen. Mark Kelly, D-Ariz., and U.S. Sen. Ruben Gallego, D-Ariz.

America First Credit Union presented Hurtado with a $5,000 donation to Child Crisis Arizona.

"Not only have they been there to support us financially, but they also donate new shoes as part of their annual shoe drive, Warm the Soles,” Hurtado, who is grants manager for Child Crisis Arizona, stated in a press release. “For a child who's lost everything or a child who didn't have much to begin with, having the opportunity to pick out a brand-new pair of shoes to start the school year means the world to them.”

Since entering Arizona in 2016, America First Credit Union has grown to serve more than 150,000 members statewide. The Queen Creek branch is part of a broader strategy to open eight new branches in Arizona by 2027, the press release stated.

The Queen Creek location is the credit union’s third new Arizona site, with additional branches now open in Goodyear and Mesa.

"What makes Queen Creek so unique to us is not just the beautiful landscapes, wonderful parks, and infrastructure, it's the people. It's your history,” stated Troy Stevenson, executive vice president and chief digital, product and retail officer of America First Credit Union, in the release. “We commit today that we will continue to invest in this community and give back to this place we can now call home."

In September 2024, the Queen Creek Town Council approved a conditional use permit and site plan for the credit union’s first location in town.

America First Credit Union has 115 locations across Arizona, California, Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico and Utah. It has more than 1.4 million members, and assets of more than $22 billion, according to the release.
