Physicians and advanced practice clinicians with Banner Health voted to unionize Wednesday to form the first-ever physician’s union in Arizona.
The 149 to 66 vote in favor of unionization came 18 months after the first contact with physicians at Banner in February 2025.
The group, which covers more than 240 outpatient clinicians, including primary care physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants across 31 Banner Health Clinics, will be under the banner of the Union of American Physicians and Dentists.
