Sign up for conservation classes at Rio Vista Recreation Center, 8866 W. Thunderbird Road. Register online through Rio Vistas website under “Enrichment Classes” and “Green Living Sustainable University” or call 623-773-7137.
The following are a few classes that will be available.

The following are a few classes that will be available.
Irrigation Basics and Q & A – 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25: Learn how to water efficiently in the desert as an irrigation expert shares practical tips and answers your irrigation questions.
Desert Foraging – 6-7:30 p.m.Tuesday, Sept. 22: Discover how to identify, harvest, process, and prepare edible desert plants, including trees, weeds, and cacti, with guidance from a local foraging expert.
Container Gardening – 9:30-11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 3: Container gardening offers a flexible, space saving way to grow desert plants, and our expert will cover container choices, potting mix, water, fertilizer, and plants that thrive in containers."
