Peoria Unified elementary students earn superior rating in national showcase

Aubree Freiwald, Grayson Horton, Savannah Howey, Tristen Olsen and Logan Wagner-Corona from Sunset Heights Elementary School showcased their civic engagement and research skills, earning a superior rating at the Project Citizen National Showcase for their project titled, “Heat-Related Deaths on Hikes.”
The team’s work was evaluated by national showcase reviewers, who awarded the project a superior rating, the highest available rating, in recognition of the team’s research, critical thinking and civic engagement.
