Peoria City Council approves $104M water purchase contract amid Colorado River allocation concerns

The city of Peoria has signed a purchase and sale agreement to acquire water from the Vidler Water Company for $104 million, securing 173,672 acre feet of long-term water storage credits, according to a news release.

One acre foot provides enough water to meet the annual needs of three houses per year. Officials say the purchase will advance the city’s assured water supply.

The Vidler water farm is in La Paz County, west of Tonopah.
