North Peoria hits road block in its quest for new post office

USPS: No new post office locations in the foreseeable future

They say neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night will keep America’s postal workers from their duty of delivering the mail. Notice debt wasn’t on that list. The postal service does not claim that as their motto, but the debt has certainly kept them from expansion, as the city of Peoria recently learned.

City officials have been working to secure a new post office for the northern part of the city for more than a year now, but it doesn’t look promising for a new location.

Mesquite District Councilmember Matt Bullock has been partnering with city staff and the office of Rep. Abe Hamadeh, R-Ariz., to try to make a new post office come to fruition, as the northern most post office in Peoria is located at 8380 W. Emile Zola Ave., southwest of the 83rd Avenue and Thunderbird Road intersection.
