ADOT enters year 2 of West Valley Loop 101 widening on track

Ramp closures continue

One year into the Arizona Department of Transportation’s $140 million project to widen Loop 101 between Interstate 17 and 75th Avenue, the project is on budget and on time, ADOT spokesman Doug Nintzel said.

Year two of work on the Agua Fria Freeway begins with bridges being widened with new girders and on- or off-ramps being reconstructed to fit the updated freeway.

The series of 60-day ramp closures along this stretch of freeway serving Glendale and Phoenix are staggered to avoid consecutive on- or off-ramps being closed at the same time.
