Hunkapi Programs, a Scottsdale-based equine therapy nonprofit, will host its annual Open Your Heart Gala on Saturday, Oct. 24, from 5:30 to 10 p.m. at Hunkapi Farms in Scottsdale, 12051 N. 96th St.
This year’s gala will celebrate the Year of the Fire Horse with themed festivities throughout the evening, while raising funds to support Hunkapi’s therapeutic programs and care for its rescued and retired horses, according to a press release.
Guests will enjoy an evening of dinner, drinks and entertainment, with stories from the Hunkapi community, herd meet-and-greets, an annual Best Dressed Contest with prizes and a live auction. Carey Peña, Emmy Award-winning journalist and founder and CEO of Inspired Media 360, will emcee the gala, with live music from Donny Grub Band.
With a $300,000 fundraising goal, the gala will help Hunkapi continue providing therapeutic programs for children, adults, and families, as well as complimentary services for veterans, first responders, and their families. Funds raised will also support the operation of Hunkapi Farms and the care of its rescued and retired horses, who are an important part of the therapeutic work taking place on the farm.
