Seniors thank Mesa firefighters with handmade treat bags

Three Mesa fire stations recently received an unexpected delivery, and nobody had to sound an alarm.

Residents of Pegasus Landing of Mesa, an assisted living and memory care community at 7231 E Broadway Road, packed treat bags for firefighters and delivered them station by station to thank crews for their courage and service.

The deliveries came days after residents attended a fire prevention workshop and picked up practical tips to help prevent fires.

“Firefighters show up for everyone in Mesa, so our residents wanted to show up for them,” Teresa Hadley, life enrichment director of Pegasus Landing of Mesa, said in a release. “Every bag was packed by hand and delivered in person. After a week of learning how to prevent fires, thanking the people who put them out felt like the perfect next step.”
