Revel Surf Park hosts ‘Sail Away Soiree’ yacht rock party Sept. 18

A beach party Sept. 18 is designed to bring together Revel Surf guests and yacht rock fans for an experience that appeals across generations.

Inspired by the resurgence of yacht rock in pop culture and music, particularly the upbeat house and DJ remixes that have introduced the genre to a new generation, the 7-10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18, event at Revel Surf, 4503 S. Power Road in Mesa, will blend nostalgia with an energetic beach atmosphere, according to a release.

Food and beverage offerings will center around tropical fare, including island-style frozen drinks and light bites. Guests can also take part in a variety of beach activities, including surfing, pickleball, volleyball and boogie boarding, or simply relax on the beach and enjoy the music and atmosphere.

Leading the entertainment will be DJ duo “The Captain & The Reels,” who will perform Yacht Rock-inspired remixes while dressed in full yacht captain attire. The captain will be joined by a roaming saxophone player, dancing cabin girls and a variety of local vendors.
