The Mesa Public Schools Governing Board at its Nov. 12 meeting unanimously approved a contract award for an intergovernmental agreement with the city of Mesa in the value of $1 million for waste and recycling services.
According to board documents, the agreement provides scheduled waste and recycling collection on a districtwide basis. It also provides roll-off services for green waste, solid waste and recyclable materials on an as-needed basis.
Worth $1 million, the contract will be funded by the district’s maintenance and operations budget. The contract was requested by Mike Kramer, executive director of operations and construction for the district.
MUSD — also known as Mesa Public Schools — is the largest public school district in Arizona and has six high schools, nine junior high schools, 55 elementary schools and 18 choice and success schools.
