The lone incumbent from the State House of Representatives from Legislative District 10 is holding a commanding lead in results released through Wednesday evening from the primary election.
Rep. Justin Olson has 17,086 votes, 43.82%.
James Rogers holds a strong lead for the second spot on the November ballot with 13,418 votes for 34.41%, while Ciara Anderson trails with 8,488 and 21.77%.
Several candidates already have secured places on the Nov. 3 general election ballot because they faced no opposition in the primary.
Republican Sen. David Farnsworth and Democrat Blair Moses advanced to the general election in the Senate race without opposition. On the House side, Democrats Brian Calaway and Helen Hunter also moved on because they were unopposed for their party's two nominations.
The remaining Republican House contest will determine which two candidates join Calaway, Hunter and Arizona Independent Party candidate David Scott on the November ballot. Scott advanced automatically because he is unopposed within his party.
Legislative District 10 covers northeast Mesa and part of Apache Junction.
Arizona's election system allows early ballots to be processed before Election Day, meaning the first results released after polls close at 8 p.m. Tuesday typically include the bulk of early voting. Additional batches of early ballots and Election Day votes will be reported throughout the evening and in the days following as counties continue tabulating ballots.
Unofficial results will remain subject to change until the canvass is completed. Winning candidates in contested primary races will advance to the Nov. 3 general election.
