3-year-old shoots himself in head, MCSO investigates Mesa incident

A 3-year-old boy shot himself in the head Thursday afternoon in Mesa, authorities said.

Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office deputies received a call for service just after 3:40 p.m. May 16 and responded to the shooting near Main Street and Crismon Road.

The boy was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to MCSO, which is investigating.

That is all the information released by MCSO as of Friday morning.
