Code violations on Apache Junction property before supervisors

Posted

Authorizing the Pinal County attorney to take all necessary action to enforce the Civil Hearing Office finding of a violation against a property owner on West Tonto Street in Apache Junction was approved recently by the Pinal County Board of Supervisors.

The supervisors voted unanimously Aug. 21 on a consent agenda with other items to authorize filing a complaint in Superior Court, utilizing appropriate resources to remedy the violations and filing liens for the cost of recovery for 2631 W. Tonto St., owned by the Estate of Judith Wright.

The property owner was found in violation of the Pinal County Development Services Code for Recreational Vehicle storage by allowing an RV to be used as living quarters; and a subsequent violation includes scrap, debris and inoperable vehicles, according to county records.

A county document shows:

  • Code compliance first received a complaint on the property June 9, 2020, and a site inspection was completed June 10 on the property where the violations were identified.
  • March 12, 2024, a site inspection was completed. Property remained in violation, including scrap and debris, one RV used as living quarters, and furniture designed for interior use stored/used outside.
  • July 2, 2024, property inspected; violations remained.
