Early voting begins for Nov. 3 General Election in Mesa

Early voting began Oct. 7 for the Nov. 3 General Election. Mesa voters will consider four city ballot questions. Residents in District 5 will vote in a District 5 council member runoff.

City ballot questions are:

  • Question 1: general obligation bond to enhance public safety
  • Question 2: general obligation bond to enhance transportation improvements for safer and less congested streets
  • Question 3: charter amendment for section 209 (a) relating to council meeting procedures and public notice
  • Question 4: charter amendment for section 211 relating to ordinance posting and publication

Mesa voters will also decide on several items for Mesa Public Schools:

  • Four candidates — Joshua Chilton, Jennifer Echols, Jason Smithson and Rachel Walden — are competing for two board seats.
  • Mesa residents will have the option to approve or deny Proposition 419 — a bond for MPS of over $449 million for infrastructure, technology and transportation improvements — and Proposition 420, which allows the district to sell, lease or exchange roughly 23 acres of property that is currently vacant.

Ballots have been mailed to voters who have requested an early ballot. Oct. 23 is the last day to request a ballot by mail for the General Election. Oct. 27 is the last day to mail your ballot and allow sufficient time for delivery.

Voting locations will be open 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Election Day, Nov. 3, Visit locations.maricopa.vote for voting and drop box locations, including times and dates.

There is one 24-hour drop-box location (with no in-person voting) in Mesa: Maricopa County Elections Mesa, 22 E. Javelina Ave.

  • Church Of Jesus Christ Of LDS Heritage, 940 E. Southern Ave.
  • Church Of Jesus Christ Of LDS Southern, 10305 E. Southern Ave.
  • Church Of Jesus Christ Of LDS/Mesa Maricopa Stake, 611 N. Stewart.
  • Church Of Jesus Christ Of MDS/Mesa, 825 S. 32nd St.
  • Love Of Christ Lutheran Church, 1525 N. Power Road.
  • Mesa Baptist Church, 2425 S. Alma School Road.
