Litchfield Elementary School District employees pursuing additional education could face fewer upfront tuition expenses under a proposed agreement with the American College of Education.
The agreement, presented to the governing board Oct. 13, would allow the college to bill the district directly for approved tuition expenses through its existing educational reimbursement program.
Eligible employees would no longer need to pay those approved expenses upfront and wait for reimbursement.
Participants would still be required to meet district eligibility, academic performance and reimbursement requirements.
District officials said the arrangement is intended to make continuing education and professional development more accessible to employees.
