Litchfield, Avondale schools plan emergency transportation partnership

Litchfield and Avondale elementary school districts are working to establish a mutual-aid agreement to help transport students and staff during emergencies.

The proposed agreement, presented to the Litchfield governing board Oct. 13, would allow either district to provide available school buses, qualified personnel and other transportation resources during an emergency evacuation.

Students and staff could be transported to designated reunification locations, with both districts coordinating evacuation plans and communication procedures.

The agreement is intended to strengthen emergency preparedness and provide additional transportation resources when either district faces an evacuation.
