Glendale military vet wins travel agency franchise

Nationwide contest awards Anthony Cinquini his own home-based business

A Glendale veteran earned his way to winning a home-based travel agency franchise.

Anthony Cinquini, who served both in the Army and the Air Force, was one of five military veterans to win the 10th annual nationwide contest “Operation Vetrepreneur: Become Your Own General,” sponsored by travel agency Dream Vacation. His prize of his own travel agency franchise is valued at $12,300.

Cinquini was one of 569 applicants to apply for this annual business plan contest, which was open to former members of any of the five branches of the U.S. military who are retired, off active duty and/or honorably discharged prior to the contest start date this past May, as well as community heroes such as first responders, educators and medical professionals who are residents of the U.S. He participated in a rigorous three-part application process which included creating a business plan, video essay and phone interviews.

“My travel agency’s mission is to inspire travel and deliver memorable vacation experiences to all customers, while saving them time and money,” Cinquini shared in a news release. “As a full-service travel advisor, I turn dreams into reality for my clients and I find fulfillment in delivering through my services the one thing that we all seek — happiness.”

As a Dream Vacations franchise owner, Cinquini is now part of the World Travel Holdings’ family of brands, one of the top travel retail networks in the world with buying power with every major cruise line and many tour operators.

As the only travel franchise to receive a 5 STAR ranking from VetFran, Dream Vacations supports military veterans and is recognized by industry publications as a veteran-friendly franchise. It was ranked the No. 1 franchise for veterans by Entrepreneur magazine in 2021, and other recent No. 1 rankings include Military Times and Forbes.
