The city of Glendale will celebrate an anniversary of a unique park designed and named to honor veterans from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 7.
City officials and residents will gather to mark the Veteranos Park one-year anniversary of the renaming and dedication of this space at 5401 W. Ocotillo Road, on the southeast corner of Ocotillo Road and 54th Avenue, to those who have served our country.
Formerly El Barrio Park, Glendale renamed it Veteranos Park to pay tribute to veterans from the community who demonstrated bravery and made sacrifices when they enlisted to protect the United States. It is a place to reflect on former military members who returned home and those who died while serving.
